Prior to joining Trask Insurance in 2014 Shane Spent 18 years with Brown & Brown Insurance/Clear Risk Solutions formerly known as Canfield & Associates.  The last three years Shane worked in public entity sales and production.  In addition Shane assisted with the corporate acquisitions team identifying insurance offices that would be later purchased by Brown and Brown Insurance.  The first 15 years at Canfield, Shane built and lead the Risk Management & Loss Control Services Department.

Experienced in working with schools, cities/towns, special districts and counties providing access to both the traditional markets and risk pooling groups.   Specialized commercial insurance placement for agriculture, industrial and business.  Ability to assess and mitigate potential losses due to advanced background in Risk Management.

Shane is Graduate from Central Washington University graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Loss Control Management/Business Administration Shane holds the Associates of Risk Management Designation (ARM).

Shane has served 28 years as emergency responder, and is still very active in the fire service.  Currently an elected Fire Commissioner with Grant County Fire District #13.  Shane retired as Fire Chief in 2015 from Grant County Fire District #13 after 25 years of service.  He has 23 years as Licensed Emergency Medical Technician (EMT). Specialized training includes, Fire Investigation, (Origin & Cause) Incident Command Training, Critical Incident Stress De-Briefing, Fire Service Instructor Level I, Firearms Training Instructor (FATS), Emergency Vehicle Accident Prevention Instructor, (EVIP) and numerous other safety and health related technical training and certifications.

Shane serves on the MACC 911 dispatch Board of Directors, is an elected Fire Commissioner with Grant County Fire #13, is the Past President of the Grant County Fire Chief’s and Commissioners Association, Past Chair Person of the Grant County EMS Council and is the Vice President of his local church board.

Shane resides in Ephrata Washington married to his wife Ronda of 24 years.  They have three grown children.  Shane enjoys traveling, hunting, fishing, sports, going to concerts and spending time with his family.
